We managed to catch up with owner and Crafter Shirlea to find out a bit more about their work...
"Bozley Crafts was born a year or more after I had retired from working full time. It was a simple suggestion from a friend who planted the seed and then stood back and watched the idea grow. At first I started making jewellery with less expensive beads and glass pearls but very soon came to realize that the consistency was not up to the standard that I would expect if I were buying the finished product myself. I therefore sourced Swarovski crystal pearls and Swarovski crystals and now use only these as well as semi-precious gems. Using these finer materials means that there is consistency and quality and that I can colour match almost any piece to match an outfit/wedding theme etc and every piece made is unique (unless for instance a bride requires identical pieces for, say, bridesmaids gifts etc.).
We have also recently introduced chainmaille jewellery to our inventory. Much of our chainmaille also incorporates Swarovski crystals and/or semi precious gems.
Bozley Crafts can be found exhibiting at Wedding Fayres in and around Dorset. Our pieces have been displayed at Compton Abbas Airfield - specifically on Lady Pilots Fly-In Day. We have a permanent small display of our work in a local restaurant in East Stour as well as a larger cabinet display in a Wedding Shop in Weston Super Mare. We are currently having our website reconstructed and will have a "shop" on the new website, where customers can purchase existing pieces and/or order bespoke items.
I have always had a good eye for detail and I am a true perfectionist. This means that nothing leaves my work station unless it is perfectly made."
Shirlea really is a perfectionist and the jewellery is not only unique but really quite exquisite! I've spent a lot of time at various arts and crafts event and you're guaranteed to see a jewellery stand or two, to be successful you have to stand out and offer something a bit different and Bozley Crafts certainly do that. We can't wait to see more of the work at the Christmas fair....
